rules

rules for entering garbage pits

If the light is red at the stoplight, you must wait until the compactor driver turns it green. This is for your protection and so that the compactor driver can work more efficiently.

Stop your vehicle at the bottom of the hill before you reach the landfill equipment.

DO NOT back up to the face of the trash until the landfill equipment stops and the blade is down. If another truck is dumping, wait until the person is back inside his/her cab before you begin to back up.

No Salvaging in the landfill!

PUBLIC CANS IN 24/7 SITE

DO NOT GET INSIDE THE CAN and do not put your children in the cans, especially with no shoes on! If you need something, get a hook or a stick to get it out, but do not get in the can. It is a HUGE rule for your safety. There are used needles, dead animals, unknown chemicals, broken glass, nails, and many other sharp/dangerous items. It’s also very dangerous to be in the can, in case one of the drivers doesn’t see you in there and hooks up the can, then all the garbage in the can becomes a weapon that can cause harm to you. Or if someone is throwing stuff away and doesn’t see you, they could seriously hurt you.

DO NOT THROW away live animals! If we catch you, we will turn you over to the authorities

road rules

Please follow the speed limit that is posted as 35mph for the dirt roads to the landfill. In the yard, the speed limit is 15mph. This is to protect everyone, especially the pedestrian’s that are not familiar with how the landfill works and the layout of the landfill.
